My son loves doing jigsaw puzzles and I just learned it the other day after a session in his OT that he is now interested in puzzles. Teacher Amy gave him 3-6 pieces of interlocking puzzle and he did pretty well though teacher has to hand him one pieces at a time.
So I went looking for a 6 pieces jigsaw puzzle at the mall, but found only a 15 piece.
Albert lost no time doing the puzzle. The design was an airplane with passengers on it.
I saw how he really love doing it and he does not have to be shown how. I laid out all the pieces for him to see easily, and he just started getting one piece at a time, trying to find where each piece best fits. He must have done this puzzle four times in a row without showing any signs of boredom or tiredness.
I'm thinking of getting the other design with a pirate's ship on it next time.
