Art class

I am thinking of enrolling my son at a visual arts class. He seems eager to learn to paint and draw already. His teacher in Abacus encourages us to send him to one too since they observed him to be artistically inclined.

So I began searching for enrichment classes near us and found a few:

1) Larry Ballesteros art school in Pacita Complex San Pedro, Laguna.
I have yet to inquire the schedule and fees, and check the place.

2) Renegrace Rose Villa School of Performing Arts
I once took dance classes (my sister and brother had ballet) when I was young in this school. Now they have grown and includes different music and voice lessons, art lessons, karate, and yes the ballet. I have yet to inquire the schedule and fees.

3) Village Art Gallert in Alabang Town Center
Its inside the ATC mall, and the fee is P7, 800 for 6 sessions. All materials to use are included except the personal apron. Saturday classes available are 11:30-1pm, and 4-5:30 pm.

4) Global Art also in Alabang Town Center
They have a systematic curriculum approach that begins with a free trial assessment of your child's skill.
Fee is P11, 885 for 24 sessions, 2x a week or 2hr per week schedules. Payment is full upon enrollement either cash or credit card. I'm thinking of sending him to this one.

My son's schedule allows only for a saturday class except the 3-5pm slot since that is for his abacus class.

While waiting for A's occupational therapy to finish, I saw these.

(Above) "Plants taken cared by special children."

That's me reading Temple Grandin's book Animals Makes Us Humans.

Its blue and cute

This is A's school. That door is his classroom. I think the place used to be an old bahay na bato house converted to a small preschool. I think this area was once the ground floor because of the entrance door and the two windows (one of them you can see here) flanking at its side. Now the kids would assemble here before class. They would play here during P.E. fridays.

I'll take picture of the entrance door next. It has a very old but beautiful lock. As well as the window that is part of the owner's house.

Morning routine

A and I have a routine together whenever I am the one who goes with him to his  therapies. After his communication therapy, we'd walk from the school to the nearest mc donald's and have breakfast there, then walk again back to the school for his behavioral therapy class.

Today, he saw this on the sidewalk.

He took this picture himself. He was really fascinated with it.

One of the benefits of walking aside from burning extra calories in your body, is you get to see beauty in small things when you take time to look.

On the way home, he would hold up his hand mimicking the action of driving a wheel.

" I hold onto her hand and vow that I won’t let her freeze to death in that tempting snow drift, so I too, mustn’t go there or we’ll both freeze."

This quote is from Eustacia Cutler, mother of Temple Grandin. This is exactly how I feel as to how I should be as a mother to my son.

"Temple isn’t ‘cured’ of her autism. She is fulfilled – and she’s fulfilled in the way that SHE wants to be fulfilled. THAT is the goal."
-
"There are no answers. There are only choices. And making choices takes a kind of persistent courage."

"The problem with being a parent is that it’s on-the-job training."
